About The Position
As a Houseperson/Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas of the hotel and be a key person of reference for guests through unloading and loading luggage and driving them to local points of interest. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver's License and be 21 years of age.
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Ability to work well in stressful situations.
- Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service.
- Knowledge of local roads and routes to area attractions and points of interest.
- Having a proper, valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas of the hotel.
- Unload and load luggage for guests.
- Drive guests to local points of interest.
- Upkeep the public areas.
- Assisting with Housekeeping as much as needed by providing basic housekeeping duties (changing the sheets, changing and arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging the room after guest check out).
- Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs.
- Recognize and report potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
- Maintaining shelf organization in the storerooms and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Cleaning furniture, elevators, glass, planters, light fixtures, carpets, walls, and more in public areas such as the lobby, pool, and public restrooms.
- Delivering special request items such as cribs to guest rooms.
- Maintain vehicle mileage log at the beginning and end of each trip indicating mileage, time, name, and date.
- Ensure vans are clean and all proper vehicle maintenance records are current.
- Report all accidents and/or traffic violations immediately.
- Perform vehicle inspection prior to each trip and upon return to the hotel.
