About The Position

First impressions are everything! As a Fairmont Gold Houseperson with Fairmont Royal York, you will act as a brand ambassador in creating the essential Toronto experience for each one of our valued guests in a luxury boutique setting. You will consistently offer professional, polished, friendly and engaging service with an intuitive service culture. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and inspecting all public spaces, cupboards, elevators and stairwells, adhering to the hotel's grooming policy, and maintaining professional conduct over communication channels, ensuring an earpiece is used at all times. You will sign in and out master keys daily, potentially using the Key Tracer system, and utilize Royal Service Mobile according to standards and policies. Proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment in accordance with RYH policies and procedures is essential. You will return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office, and follow both hotel and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards. Reporting necessary maintenance items frequently and communicating them to leaders, as well as following all safety and sanitation policies and procedures, are key aspects of this role. You will assist the Room Attendant with maintaining the cleanliness of all areas on the gold floors, including closets, corridors, lounge, and public spaces. You will be responsible for restocking all glassware, linens, and supplies, and for delivering and removing all guest requests/preferences. Open communication with all Fairmont Gold colleagues is crucial to enhance the overall guest experience, and you will ensure that no items are placed in the corridor at any time. Other duties as assigned by leaders.

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Proficient in English language
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Has achieved a 90% or higher average on monthly audits
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Must be able to work weekends, shift work, holidays
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to push or pull objects up to 60 lbs
  • Frequent work above shoulder height is required
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
