About The Position

Housepersons maintain the cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public areas, while supporting room attendants in upholding high standards of quality and service.

Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be proactive and multi-task.
  • Ability to verbally communicate with others.
  • Knowledge of general housekeeping practices, with the ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain professional behavior.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to take directions from others and work for long periods of time.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and supplies all housekeeping carts with appropriate levels of linens and towels in compliance with property standards.
  • Removes soiled linens and trash from rooms upon stripping.
  • Collects and takes all soiled linen to laundry room at the end of shift for laundry pick up and cleaning service.
  • Participates in restocking linen on floors as necessary.
  • Hallways and stairs must be cleaned daily. This may require cleaning of windows, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing marble floors, carpet, and tile floors as required.
  • Cleans and maintains common areas, including the employee elevators, which must be in order and clean.
  • Floor closets must be organized and cleaned.
  • Perform deep/general cleaning as scheduled on business needs.
  • Ensures work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris, or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Follow proper hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries promptly.
  • Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely. Ensure follow-up with guests is performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards and scheduling, depending upon the hotel's needs.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.
  • Contributes positively to the team within the department.
  • Participates in ongoing training.
  • Assist with projects assigned by the manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
