Housekeeping Worker - Part Time - Weekends/Holidays
About The Position
Housekeeping staff help ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients and their families. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and supporting a culture of compassion, care, warmth, and support throughout the hospital. Housekeeping Workers spend time building relationships with patients and families, provide superior customer service, and help ensure patient comfort and safety, with an ongoing focus on infection control. This part-time position works days from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including every Saturday and Sunday, and requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund. The role is on-site; employees should live within commuting distance to NewYork-Presbyterian, and travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
Requirements
- Capable of using the equipment and tools necessary to perform the duties.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions.
- Work every Saturday and Sunday.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three to six months of hospital housekeeping experience.
- Extensive customer service experience and a desire to put patients first.
- Experience in the hotel, restaurant, or retail industry.
