About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for inspecting and staging lodging units to ensure a positive guest arrival experience. This role involves reinforcing cleanliness standards through training, documenting inspections for piece rate tracking, and assisting the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Housekeeping Manager with maintaining resort standards for cottages, mountain homes, walkways, housekeeping closets, and public areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of internet navigation and electronic mail.
  • Ability to operate a radio for communication with staff.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Optii / SnT helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining clean, orderly, and comfortable guest accommodations both indoors and outdoors.
  • Checking in and out keys, radios, and phones/tablets, and vehicles from the safety office.
  • Directly supervising 10-15 employees in assigned sections.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of rooms/areas in assigned sections and that all amenities are stocked.
  • Directing housepersons in maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas and ensuring garbage and linen are picked up.
  • Ensuring staff follows Sundance Housekeeping standards for cleanliness and safety.
  • Communicating problems and requests to other departments in a timely manner.
  • Safely transporting housekeepers to assigned areas.
  • Ensuring each employee is wearing a neat and complete uniform.
  • Ensuring items checked out have been returned to safety.
  • Completing Room Inspection checklists for every turnover/arrival unit and stayover services.
  • Updating room statuses via phone or tablet.
  • Assisting other assigned areas to ensure all units are cleaned prior to 4:00 pm check-in.
  • Ensuring all housekeepers/housepersons go home at the same time unless otherwise approved.
  • Assisting with cleaning rooms if assigned by the Housekeeping Management Team.
  • Coaching employees on prioritizing duties and completing duties to the Sundance standard.
  • Providing feedback on performance, including praising employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Promoting a positive work environment by showing employee appreciation and administering constructive criticism professionally.
  • Encouraging and motivating employees and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Using critical thinking to resolve problems.
  • Reporting performance or insubordination issues to Management.
  • Communicating unfinished work or challenges to prevent unresolved problems.
  • Attending bi-weekly progress meetings with Management.
  • Working weekly schedule as approved by Management based on business demands.
  • Completing all other duties or projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Management Team.
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Completing all applicable paperwork for supervisory responsibilities and submitting to HR.
