Housekeeping Supervisor
About The Position
The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises housekeeping staff to ensure brand and hotel guest-service and sustainability standards are met. The role trains, schedules, coaches, and supports associates; helps maintain staffing levels; monitors guest-service scores; and addresses performance and behavior concerns. The supervisor may clean rooms or assist staff, supervise laundry employees if applicable, and assist in the breakfast area as needed. The role follows HHM’s EarthView sustainability practices and applicable safety requirements, with the overall goal of ensuring guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
Responsibilities
- Train, schedule, coach, and support associates to meet established brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
- Screen applicants and hire new employees when housekeeping associates are HHM employees.
- Train staff to clean rooms efficiently according to established standards, or coordinate with external vendors to ensure proper training.
- Communicate guest-service scores to encourage improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
- Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to associates.
- Occasionally clean rooms or assist staff with room cleaning.
- Address associate performance and behavior concerns directly for HHM associates or through vendors.
- Supervise laundry employees, if applicable.
- Prepare schedules for HHM associates or provide vendors with anticipated occupancy to ensure appropriate staffing.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Assist in the breakfast area as needed.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
