Taboo Muskoka is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to join our team in Gravenhurst. The Housekeeping Department is the heart of the hotel and is responsible for the cleanliness and aesthetic upkeep of rooms, public areas, and the property. No level of service, friendliness, or glamour can equal the sensation a guest feels upon entering a spotless, tidy, and fresh space. We are building our Housekeeping Team to ensure the heart keeps beating! Full-time position working 6AM to 2PM each day starting in May through October. Staff housing is available.

Requirements

  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English at a high school level.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the hotel property, facilities, history, and region is an asset.
  • Knowledge of how to safely use cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals is an asset.
  • Understanding of WHMIS health and safety requirements and proper use of PPE is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, clean and disinfect all surfaces, wash windows, and remove garbage in assigned public areas, ensuring cleanliness meets resort standards.
  • Clean, disinfect, and restock public washrooms throughout the resort.
  • Clean and organize carts or caddies with daily supplies at the beginning of each shift and restock or remove items at the at end of each shift.
  • Care for and properly handle all equipment used throughout the day, such as vacuums and carts.
  • Identify health and safety risks and prevent injury by following WHMIS protocol.
  • Operate carpet extractors and the floor steamers as required.
