About The Position

Taboo Muskoka is seeking energetic and guest-focused Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team at The Boathouse Restaurant in Gravenhurst. Serving our leisure guests, condo owners, locals and/or working events with corporate clients on beautiful Lake Muskoka is a great way to spend your summer! Staff housing is available.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a bartender.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Ontario Smart Serve certification required.
  • Valid Driver’s License for golf cart operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in casual fine dining is an asset.
  • Food Handler certification an asset but not required
  • First Aid/CPR certification an asset but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the bar for service, including inventory counts and restocking.
  • Prepare beverages to both bar guests and restaurant guests.
  • Engage in conversation with guests to provide a welcoming experience.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures.
  • Polish glassware.
  • Assist servers and conference attendants with setup and teardown.
  • Interact professionally with all function guests and co-workers.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain service standards as set out by departmental Training Manual.
  • Complete all work as directed by members of the Food & Beverage management team, and all other duties as assigned.
  • Work calmly and efficiently while promoting positive relations with related departments.
  • Work safely and maintain a safe working environment, as set out by company policy and Workplace Health & Safety statutory requirements.
  • Positively promote departmental and resort special events and activities.
  • Carry out duties within the general scope of the position and follow all departmental and resort policies.
  • Request assistance when required to meet the department’s service standards during high business volumes.
  • Ensure a thorough accounting of all cash transactions and product behind the bar. You are responsible for reporting all losses or shortages of product or transactions discrepancies.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with Smart Serve training, resort policy, and the statutory requirements of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
  • Other duties as assigned.
