About The Position

The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a Housekeeping Manager for its City Clubhouse. The club has two campuses, offers 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs, 18 hotel rooms, and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. The City Clubhouse is located near Union Square and public transportation. The Housekeeping Manager is a high-profile member service position responsible for overseeing a housekeeping department of approximately 20 employees in a 61,330 square foot clubhouse. This includes managing housekeeping services for the City Clubhouse, supervising staff, and overseeing the setup and breakdown of banquet events. The role requires maintaining cleanliness standards across various areas such as locker rooms, F&B outlets, public rooms, banquet spaces, fitness areas, and pools.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or foreign equivalency in hospitality management or a related field, and/or previous experience in private clubs, hotels, restaurants, or a related industry.
  • Fluent English oral and written communication skills, including report writing and incident documentation.
  • Solid computer skills in MS Office, internet, Outlook, and POS systems (Northstar).
  • 3 years of experience supervising or managing housekeeping or environmental services.
  • Extensive knowledge of housekeeping standards and environmental services.
  • Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, mornings, afternoons, and holidays as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness throughout the Clubhouse, including locker rooms, F&B outlets, public rooms, hallways, meeting rooms, restrooms, fitness areas, pools, offices, golf shop, golf course restrooms, and tennis clubhouse.
  • Provide daily oversight, training, and management of housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Ensure rooms are properly set up for events.
  • Ensure member service standards are met and employee concerns are addressed or escalated.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, club policies, house rules, and union contracts.
  • Train, supervise, and ensure standards are met for all housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct inventory, order, and maintain proper par for all housekeeping supplies and linens.
  • Assist in scheduling, time off requests, and bids for housekeeping staff.
  • Coordinate work orders with Engineering Departments and ensure their completion.
  • Manage the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms, ensuring cleaning standards are maintained between service periods.
  • Read and interpret BEOs and floor plans to execute correct room setups in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all Food & Beverage outlets are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Manage housekeeping staff for setups for all special events, banquets, and meetings.
  • Assist members and guests with requests.
  • Field member concerns to reach a resolution.
  • Complete incident reports regarding safety and security, including lost/found, accidents, medical incidents/emergencies, and 911 calls.
  • Assist in other Clubhouse operations management capacities on weekends, during vacation/sick/time off, and when additional management assistance is needed.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with the Clubhouse management team and staff regarding assignments, projects, and progress towards goals.
