About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager (Evening Shift, Weekends Required) is responsible for managing the shift supervision and staffing assignments to ensure work is performed effectively and efficiently. This role involves planning and scheduling staff assignments and cleaning services, reassigning staff as needed to meet schedules and ensure full utilization, and handling emergency cleaning, maintenance, and projects. The manager will also inform and hold staff accountable for policies and procedures, including performance, overtime, and attendance. A key part of the role is supervising the custodial service inventory system, requisitioning and distributing cleaning equipment and supplies, and providing instructions for special cleaning services. The manager will inspect and audit buildings for compliance, investigate complaints, and arrange premises for public meetings and special events. Supervisory duties include resolving personnel problems, evaluating performance, taking disciplinary action, maintaining time cards, and overseeing the training of new employees. The position utilizes software for facility maintenance and patient flow monitoring to enhance response and turnaround times.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and at least 3 years of Custodial Services/Housekeeping management experience in a health care setting, OR in lieu of Associate's degree, at least 4 years of Custodial Services/Housekeeping management experience in a health care setting.
  • Knowledge of operational software/quality programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance.
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen.
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience in Custodial Service Operational Software Programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize software programs to enhance patient flow monitoring and reduce response and turnaround times in patient rooms.
