Housekeeping Linen Aide

About The Position

Maintains a clean, attractive, and safe environment in assigned areas by performing cleaning, transport, equipment handling, room setup, trash removal, and linen handling duties. Performs general cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned facility areas. Distributes supplies to departments and maintains stock levels. Uses effective communication and competent job performance to gain the confidence and cooperation of peers and supervisors. Follows local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to support sanitization and safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment, including proper cleaning procedures and use of various equipment.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled data and instructions.
Written and verbal communication skills for communicating with team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel.
Time-management and organizational skills, including prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines within standardized policies and procedures.
Ability to operate basic environmental services equipment, including mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks amid interruptions, and select appropriate established solutions to standard problems.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff.

Responsibilities

Clean patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.
Handle and transport linens, supplies, and equipment.
Set up rooms and remove trash.
