About The Position

This is a part-time position focused on maintaining cleanliness and safety within the facility, adhering to established schedules and infection control practices. The role involves a variety of cleaning tasks in resident living areas, recreational spaces, and common areas, as well as handling laundry and waste disposal.

Requirements

Ability to follow schedules.
Knowledge of infection control and universal practices.
Ability to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable work areas.
Awareness of safety precautions.
Ability to communicate supply needs.
Ability to clean and maintain equipment.
Proficiency in various cleaning techniques (sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, wall/ceiling cleaning).
Ability to remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces.
Ability to handle waste disposal, including infectious waste.
Understanding of resident rights and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
Coordinate daily housekeeping duties with nursing services when performing routine cleaning in resident living areas.
Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
Assure that established infection control and universal practices are maintained when performing housekeeping duties.
Keep work areas free of hazardous objects.
Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary or directed.
Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily assignments.
Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc. daily as instructed.
Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, striping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.
Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting, etc.
Clean walls and ceiling by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
Clean hallways.
Discard waste trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liners.
Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers.
Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
Honor the residents' personal and property rights.
Turn in all found articles to the charge nurse.
