About The Position

This is a part-time position focused on maintaining cleanliness and safety within the facility, adhering to established schedules and infection control practices. The role involves a variety of cleaning tasks in resident living areas, common spaces, and individual rooms, as well as managing waste disposal and ensuring the proper care of cleaning equipment.

• Proficiency in floor cleaning techniques (sweeping, dusting, mopping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting).
• Proficiency in carpet cleaning techniques (vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting).
• Proficiency in wall and ceiling cleaning techniques (washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing).
• Ability to remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using appropriate solutions.
• Ability to clean hallways.
• Ability to properly discard waste and reline trash receptacles.
• Ability to clean vacant rooms.
• Ability to handle infectious waste disposal.
• Ability to maintain resident confidentiality.
• Respect for residents' personal and property rights.
• Ability to turn in found articles to the charge nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping duties with nursing services when performing routine cleaning in resident living areas.
• Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Assure that established infection control and universal practices are maintained when performing housekeeping duties.
• Keep work areas free of hazardous objects.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
• Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary or directed.
• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily assignments.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc. daily as instructed.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, striping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.
• Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting, etc.
• Clean walls and ceiling by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Clean hallways.
• Discard waste trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liners.
• Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
• Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers.
• Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
• Honor the residents' personal and property rights.
• Turn in all found articles to the charge nurse.
