About The Position

The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor leads housekeeping and laundry operations, supporting a safe, sanitary environment and ensuring the department meets performance and regulatory standards. The role includes supervising and developing staff, overseeing cleaning systems and inspections, managing supplies and equipment, and contributing to quality improvement efforts. The position is part of Journey, whose mission is to achieve exceptional quality outcomes through a dedicated Care Team.

Requirements

• Associate degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience, preferably in environmental services at a skilled nursing facility.
• Proficiency in mathematical skills, including arithmetic across units of measure and calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Familiarity with infection control techniques.
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies, codes, standards, and regulations relevant to environmental services.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, evaluate, and manage housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Ensure staff adhere to performance standards and provide guidance to maximize their effectiveness.
• Develop cleaning systems and conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
• Manage supply procurement, equipment maintenance, and departmental budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and facility committees to enhance environmental services.
