About The Position

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for overseeing housekeeping staff, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards, and managing operations in the absence of higher management. This role involves staff management, quality control, and inter-departmental communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeepers, and janitors.
  • Give suggestions on work schedules and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and customer service.
  • Provide feedback to staff as needed on work performance.
  • Address any employee issues or conflicts that may arise.
  • Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Identify and address maintenance and repair needs within guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Monitor the use of cleaning supplies and equipment to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services and resolve them promptly.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that staff members use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure that the hotel maintains cleanliness and hygiene standards to meet legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to coordinate guest services and maintenance requests.
  • Communicate with the hotel management team to provide updates on housekeeping operations and address any issues or concerns.
  • Oversee the HSK staff three days per week and will be assigned a board on the remaining days.
  • In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper or Supervisor, manage the housekeeping department for up to five days during that week or for the duration of their absence.
