As a Housekeeping Houseperson, you will assist room attendants on assigned floors/sections, collect and deliver linen, and may assist with stripping linen from rooms or cleaning public areas. You will also deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Ability to perform carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to perform pushing and or pulling items up to 300 pounds
  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
  • Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guest and employees
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when reading assignments and completing checklists

Responsibilities

  • Assist room attendants on assigned floors/sections
  • Collect dirty linen and transport to laundry chute
  • Deliver fresh linen to room attendant carts throughout the day
  • Assist with stripping linen from room and/or cleaning the public areas
  • Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of floor closets
  • Remove garbage from the service elevator landing
  • Wipe down shelves/counters in floor closets
  • Sweep and mop floor closets
  • Remove non-floor closet items and store in appropriate areas by the end of the shift
  • Assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linen
  • Deliver linen and other supplies to room attendants
  • Remove all dirty linen from assigned Room Attendants carts and closets and transport to laundry chute
  • Throw any recycled items down the recycle chute (except glasses and boxes)
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition for their own sections/floors
  • Responsible for shampooing carpet in guestrooms and designated hallways/floors
  • Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner
  • Clean public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures
  • Report to office coordinator needed repairs or unsafe conditions
  • Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and control supplies/amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
  • May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects
  • May assist with other duties as assigned
