Housekeeping Hospitality Services Associate - Full Time
About The Position
NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center providing diagnostic and therapeutic care across specialties and subspecialties, along with inpatient and outpatient services. The Housekeeping Hospitality Services Associate is responsible for cleaning and maintaining a safe environment in an assigned area and assisting with activities necessary for the effective functioning of the department. The role involves performing environmental and cleaning tasks, responding to dispatches, communicating appropriately with colleagues, identifying and escalating issues, and helping maintain or improve HCAHPS scores. The associate follows HAZMAT guidelines when cleaning spills, documents legibly, and reports equipment problems to appropriate personnel. The position is full-time.
Requirements
- Able to communicate and understand simple directions in English.
- Able to read MSDS and chemical labels.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform environmental tasks necessary for the orderly functioning of the department.
- Recognize and respond to issues that may cause problems, or refer them through the proper chain of command using the escalation policy.
- Document legibly and maintain open communication through a two-way radio system or phone.
- Respond to dispatch in a timely manner.
- Work to improve and/or maintain HCAHPS scores.
- Perform cleaning duties necessary for the orderly functioning of the department.
- Clean spills according to HAZMAT guidelines.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report problems to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Use appropriate communication in all interactions and demonstrate proper radio and phone etiquette.
