About The Position

The Housekeeping and Laundry team member at Maple View Memory Care helps maintain a clean, fresh, safe, and welcoming environment for residents living with memory loss. The hands-on role includes cleaning resident rooms and shared spaces, handling laundry and personal garments, restocking supplies, and maintaining organized work areas. It also involves respectful, patient interactions with residents and families and reporting maintenance concerns, hazards, or changes in residents' conditions to appropriate staff.

Requirements

• Ability to follow cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including some weekends or holidays as needed.
• Physical capacity to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push laundry and cleaning carts throughout a shift.
• Patience, warmth, and comfort working near residents who live with memory loss.
• A team-minded attitude and respect for resident privacy and dignity.
• Dependability, compassion, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

• Prior housekeeping or laundry experience in a senior living, hospitality, or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, and shared spaces according to schedules and safety standards.
• Wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, towels, and residents’ personal clothing with care.
• Sort and label resident garments to ensure personal items are returned to the correct individuals.
• Restock supplies, empty trash, and manage waste according to infection-control guidelines.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or changes in a resident’s condition to appropriate staff.
• Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning agents and laundry chemicals.
• Keep the housekeeping and laundry area tidy and organized, and maintain accurate task records.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, and coworkers, offering friendly and helpful support.
