About The Position

Maintains environmental and infection control standards and regulatory requirements within established policies and procedures. Performs general cleaning tasks to maintain patient-care and non-patient-care areas at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton.

Requirements

• Less than one year of experience working as a housing aide.
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment at all times.
• Knowledge of methods for cleaning guest rooms and operating laundry services.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push or pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances.
• Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Straightens and picks up trash in restrooms; cleans sinks, showers, toilets, plumbing fixtures, mirrors, and surfaces; replenishes soap and paper products.
• Vacuums carpets and routinely sweeps and mops floors.
• Dusts vents and polishes furniture in common areas and patient rooms daily.
• Cleans and polishes fire extinguishers and ice machines weekly.
• Coordinates housekeeping services with other departments.
• Cleans bathrooms and toilet bowls daily.
