About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities at the Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn Hotel in Chelsea, Massachusetts, in accordance with company and brand standards. The role includes cleaning, stocking, and maintaining assigned guest rooms; responding to guest and departmental requests; managing cleaning supplies; and respecting guest privacy. Housekeepers may also launder soiled linens and complete other duties as requested.

Requirements

Prior experience as a cleaner or housekeeper; hotel experience preferred.
Detail-oriented and thorough, discreet, and respectful of guest privacy.
Work with the highest level of integrity and perform consistently to a high standard.
Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
Ability to work with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance.
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant and friendly manner.
Excellent prioritization and time-management skills.
Willingness to work a rotational seven-day work cycle, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Receive the assigned-room list from the manager and prioritize rooms.
Clean, stock, and maintain assigned guest rooms according to Colwen and brand standards.
Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
Check cleaning-cart inventory, add necessary supplies, and transport the cart to assigned floors and rooms.
Ensure guest privacy; knock and announce before entering rooms and return later if a room is occupied.
Check room amenities and supplies and restock them according to standards.
Make beds neatly and stock bath linens according to standards.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and/or coffee stations.
Remove trash, dirty linens, towels, and room-service items from rooms.
Check that appliances are present and in clean working order.
Straighten desk areas and furniture; dust and polish furniture and remove marks or stains from walls and furnishings.
Vacuum carpets and clean floors.
Notify the maintenance department of needed repairs or maintenance.
Complete a final walk-around to ensure rooms meet hotel standards.
Launder soiled linens as needed, including loading washers and dryers and folding sheets and towels.
Take found items to the designated lost-and-found area.
Perform other duties as requested.
