This position is responsible for cleaning floors, including vacuuming, sweeping, dust mopping, washing, stripping, waxing, and buffing. The role also involves shampooing carpets, washing windows, walls, chalkboards, and trash cans, as well as dusting furniture, fixtures, and woodwork. The Housekeeper will collect and empty trash receptacles, pick up litter, and remove biological waste. Additionally, they will clean, sanitize, and stock bathrooms, change and clean shower curtains, and replace light bulbs. Operation of basic cleaning equipment is required, along with moving furniture and performing routine maintenance on electrical, heating, vents, and fixtures. The role may also involve assisting in snow removal and training/overseeing helpers. A strong understanding and compliance with safety procedures, including MSDS, HAZCOM, OSHA standards (Bloodborn Pathogen, PPE), and the University of New England Safety Manual, are essential.
