About The Position

Pacific Grove Hospital, a 68-bed acute psychiatric facility in Riverside, California, is seeking a PRN Housekeeper to maintain a clean and healthy patient care environment. The position is as needed and does not have a set schedule. The hourly pay range is $25–$27.

The Housekeeper performs cleaning and custodial duties throughout the facility, disinfects rooms and equipment using appropriate processes and germicides, handles laundry and supply stocking, and prepares rooms for meetings and facility functions. The role requires following infection-control measures and properly cleaning and storing equipment and supplies. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a commercial, clinical, or healthcare environment preferred.
• Valid state driver's license where required by the facility.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and custodial tasks to maintain the facility's upkeep, sanitation, and cleanliness.
• Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies using appropriate processes and germicides.
• Move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, clean kitchens and utensils, and sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors as needed.
• Launder soiled linens as directed.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department or unit use and stock supplies as needed.
• Clean and store equipment and supplies properly after each shift.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions.
• Follow all infection-control measures.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
