About The Position

The Overnight Housekeeper maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, appearance, and presentation of a commercial shopping center during overnight hours. The role ensures that public areas, restrooms, entrances, common areas, and other assigned spaces are clean and ready for shoppers, tenants, employees, and visitors each day. The Housekeeper works independently with minimal supervision while following established cleaning procedures, safety standards, and company expectations. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; cleaning glass and surfaces; emptying trash and recycling; maintaining seating, food court, and gathering areas; responding to spills and other cleaning needs; replenishing restroom supplies; and performing deep cleaning as directed. The position also involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, following chemical-handling and safety instructions, reporting maintenance issues and hazards, organizing janitorial storage areas, and completing cleaning checklists. The role requires extended periods of standing and walking, frequent movement between assigned locations, and the ability to perform repetitive cleaning activities. The Overnight Housekeeper is expected to complete assigned duties by the end of the shift, maintain high cleaning standards, use supplies and equipment responsibly, and communicate concerns to supervisors. This is a full-time, third-shift position.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize public restrooms, including fixtures, floors, and high-touch surfaces.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in assigned common areas, hallways, entrances, and other spaces.
Clean glass doors, interior windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces as assigned.
Dust and wipe furniture, countertops, fixtures, ledges, railings, and other surfaces.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
Clean and maintain seating areas, food court spaces, gathering areas, and other public spaces.
Remove fingerprints, smudges, spills, and visible marks from doors, walls, and other surfaces.
Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and other cleaning needs to help maintain a safe environment.
Replenish restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.
Perform periodic deep cleaning and detail cleaning as directed by management.
Properly operate and maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies.
Follow chemical-handling procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment operating instructions.
Report maintenance concerns, damaged fixtures, plumbing issues, safety hazards, and unusual conditions to the supervisor.
Keep assigned janitorial closets and storage areas clean and organized.
Complete assigned cleaning checklists and report completed work or outstanding concerns to the supervisor.
Complete assigned duties before the end of the shift and communicate incomplete tasks, supply shortages, equipment issues, or other concerns.
Perform other cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned by management.
