3rd Shift Housekeeper (FT)
About The Position
This position serves internal and external guests by maintaining and cleaning public and employee areas of the resort. The Housekeeper keeps locker room and spa areas stocked with towels and removes dirty linens from bins. The role also maintains pool-deck and arcade areas, responds to pages, communicates with other departments, and completes assignments within the housekeeping department. Employees must follow resort grooming, dress, guest-service, safety, and environmental practices. Native American preference applies. Employment is conditional on passing a background investigation and drug screen.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Positive, upbeat, energetic, team-oriented, and professional.
- Able to comprehend and follow directions, relate to others, communicate orally and in writing with coworkers, make decisions, and plan and control work.
- Able to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent standing and physical scrubbing of surfaces.
- Must wear earpieces at all times so they do not interfere with guests' stay.
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Some housekeeping experience preferred.
- A valid Michigan driver's license and ability to be insured under the resort's policy are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and support effective communication between housekeeping and other departments.
- Provide excellent service to internal and external guests and offer assistance to guests.
- Keep the radio, cart, and keys safe and secure.
- Respond immediately to all pages received.
- Follow the prescribed door-knocking procedure when entering public restrooms.
- Report unusual circumstances and major carpet stains to a supervisor.
- Report furniture or furnishing damage promptly to a supervisor or the housekeeping office.
- Maintain locker rooms and pre-showers; remove garbage and dirty linens where applicable.
- Maintain the pool-deck surface, windows, garbage, and the exterior of the slide near the pool edge.
- Maintain the arcade area off the pool deck.
- Complete assigned work and other housekeeping duties as needed.
- Follow grooming and dress standards in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain open communication with the supervisor.
- Understand and follow the resort's environmental practices, including its green mission statement.
