About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring full-time Housekeepers at The Residence at Summer Street in Stamford, Connecticut. The Housekeeper maintains residents’ rooms and community common areas by performing routine cleaning, laundry, and related duties. The role requires professional, ethical conduct that reflects LCB’s values and a positive approach when interacting with residents, visitors, coworkers, prospective residents, families, and professionals. Housekeepers may also cover other positions when needed and perform additional assigned duties. Work includes cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, carpets, windows, blinds, and common areas; handling waste; maintaining housekeeping carts; and removing, washing, folding, and returning linens. Associates must use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and work with consideration for residents, visitors, and other workers in the area. The position involves potential exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials and hazardous chemicals.

Requirements

Ability to maintain a clean and neat environment.
Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances.
Ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards.
Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and carry objects.
Ability to push and pull carts and to walk, sit, and stand continuously as needed.
Ability to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below the waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
Frequent lifting, bending, stretching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to use good body mechanics and safely operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals.
Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks while maintaining a positive attitude toward the service provided.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience in a health care or hospitality setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, coworkers, and the surrounding community.
Represent and interact positively with prospective residents, family members, and professionals to support community occupancy.
Clean residents’ rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, and common bathrooms.
Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting as needed.
Empty wastebaskets and replace bags; dispose of waste in proper containers.
Dust, polish, and wipe surfaces such as windowsills, woodwork, and counters.
Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean and orderly manner.
Remove, fold, and return bed linens; wash and fold linens.
Clean and wash windows, and clean and dust blinds.
Perform general outdoor pickup as needed.
Fill in for other positions when someone is out and perform other assigned duties.
Attend required in-service training and orientations.
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and perform tasks with consideration for residents, visitors, and workers in the area.
