About The Position

The Housekeeper performs skilled and routine tasks necessary to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned units at Lake Guntersville State Park. The role includes cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms, replenishing room items, performing laundry duties as assigned, and notifying a supervisor of quality-control issues, needed repairs, or safety concerns. Work requires physical presence at the job site and compliance with the company’s “green” initiatives and safety precautions.

Requirements

Partial high school education; a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Strong sanitation habits and the ability to learn and follow important safety precautions.
Strong customer-service abilities, including actively looking for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
Ability to read and write work-related documents in English.
Ability to understand spoken English and speak clearly with customers and coworkers.
Ability to communicate constantly with other employees in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including standing for the entire workday, climbing steps regularly, and lifting, carrying, and pushing specified loads.
Physical presence at the job site is essential.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas as directed by management and in compliance with the company’s “green” initiatives.
Change linens and make beds.
Dust and clean furniture, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, door panels, door ledges, and thresholds.
Remove trash from receptacles, replace bags as needed, and clear trash from tables and floors or grounds.
Clean and vacuum under beds, desks, gaming tables, and behind nightstands.
Check for and replace missing room items, including soaps, shampoos, conditioners, hangers, clocks, ice bucket liners, hair dryers, brochures, and stationery.
Clean bathtubs, tub ledges, sinks, vanity shelves, toilets, bathroom scales, tissue box covers, and soap dishes, ensuring they are free of spots, mold, mildew, and dust.
Sweep and mop bathroom floors.
Dust lights, sconces, makeup mirrors, and lampshades.
Perform laundry duties as assigned.
Notify the supervisor of housekeeping quality-control issues or needed repairs.
Remain aware of safety issues and report them immediately to the manager.
