About The Position
This is a full-time, day-shift position that includes working every weekend. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, adhering to established cleaning schedules, infection control practices, and safety precautions. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks in resident rooms, recreational areas, and common spaces, as well as managing supplies and waste.

- Ability to handle waste and infectious waste disposal
- Ability to maintain resident confidentiality
- Respect for residents' personal and property rights
Responsibilities
- Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
- Coordinate daily housekeeping duties with nursing services when performing routine cleaning in resident living areas
- Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner
- Assure that established infection control and universal practices are maintained when performing housekeeping duties
- Keep work areas free of hazardous objects
- Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
- Keep supervisor informed of supply needs
- Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary or directed
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily assignments
- Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc. daily as instructed
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures
- Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, striping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.
- Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting, etc.
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
- Clean hallways
- Discard waste trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liners
- Clean vacant rooms as assigned
- Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident information
- Honor the residents' personal and property rights
- Turn in all found articles to the charge nurse
