About The Position

Friendship Village, a premier Life Plan Community located in St. Louis, is seeking a skilled Housekeeper with a strong positive attitude toward customer service. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals. The Housekeeper helps keep Skilled Nursing and Rehab resident rooms, and common areas clean, comfortable, and ready for use. This is a flexible floater position, with assignments that may change throughout the day. The primary focus is helping prepare rooms after late discharges, assisting with laundry, and completing special cleaning projects where support is needed.

Requirements

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, performing basic arithmetic, and following written or oral instructions in English.
• Commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Experience serving tables in a hotel, restaurant, or fine dining club is desirable.
• Ability to interpret and explain the menu, address questions, manage the meal service process, and respond to requests.
• Ability to work closely with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers. Requires courtesy, tact, and grace.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare rooms after resident discharges, including changing linens, replacing towels, restocking supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and arranging the room for its next use.
• Assist with washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry as assigned.
• Support special cleaning projects and provide coverage across rooms, floors, apartments, and common areas as needed.
• Promptly report and turn in any resident or guest belongings found while cleaning.
• Report maintenance needs or property damage to the supervisor.
• Clean, disinfect, and store equipment at the end of each shift.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and fellow employees.
