About The Position

Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, a skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, New York, is looking to hire full and part time Housekeepers. Our Housekeepers clean and service the building areas, performing a variety of routine housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Requirements

Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge skills and abilities which enable the performance of the duties listed above.

Responsibilities

Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area
Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors.
Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand; using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
Clean and change mattresses.
Wash doors and door frames.
Wash elevator doors, walls and trim.
Clean air outlet and return grilles.
Vacuum rugs and spot clean where necessary.
Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
Clean louver drapes.
Sweep, mop and wax as necessary; polishes floors using buffing machine.
Move furniture to clean rooms and areas.
Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
In case of inclement weather, the housekeeper is responsible for the shoveling of snow, clearing sidewalks to make entering more accessible for the next shift.
Replenish supplies as needed.
