About The Position
The Housekeeper provides a superior level of cleaning quality in the assigned area to maintain a clean working environment. This position works in the Emergency Department and may clean specialty areas such as NICU, L&D, CCU, ED, and OR. Duties may include light floor care, buffing, and carpet spotting. The Housekeeper follows life safety procedures and demonstrates appropriate infection-control and hand-hygiene practices, spill cleanup, and biohazard handling.
Responsibilities
- Clean specialty areas including NICU, L&D, CCU, ED, and OR.
- Perform light floor care, including buffing and spotting carpet.
- Follow procedures for life safety codes.
- Clean chemical and medicine spills, including USP 800 spills.
- Use AIDET in patient rooms.
- Apply infection-control techniques and proper hand hygiene.
- Safely handle sharps and clean biohazards, including body-fluid spills.
