About The Position

Gracedale Nursing Home is seeking a Part-Time Housekeeper to join their team. This position is responsible for cleaning and servicing building areas, performing a variety of routine housekeeping duties, including heavy cleaning and lifting. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Gracedale Nursing Home has been providing long-term care and rehabilitative services since the 1960s and is committed to preserving residents' dignity and quality of life.

Requirements

Completion of a high school or general equivalency diploma.
Any training or experience which has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities cited below.
All employees of Gracedale Nursing Home will be required to attend Feeding Program training.
Ability to perform the duties of the position.
Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects.
Ability to learn assigned tasks.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English to perform the duties of this position.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and servicing Gracedale building areas.
Performing a variety of routine housekeeping duties.
Heavy cleaning duties and lifting heavy objects.
Sweeping, mopping, and wet washing floors.
Washing walls and trims, ceilings, and inside windows.
Gathering and disposing of trash.
Washing wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
Cleaning and changing mattresses.
Changing bed linens and/or making beds.
Putting away resident clothing after laundering.
Washing doors and doorframes.
Washing elevator doors, walls, and trim.
Cleaning air outlets and return grilles.
Vacuuming rugs, and spot cleaning when/where necessary.
Dusting desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
Cleaning toilets, urinals, and mirrors.
Washing sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
Dusting and waxing handrails, and other woodwork.
Cleaning and disinfecting beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
Cleaning louver drapes.
Sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors as necessary.
Polishing floors using buffer machine.
Moving furniture, as needed, to clean rooms and areas.
Cleaning lighting fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes, and other high places using a ladder, when necessary.
Removing empty oxygen tanks from resident rooms/floors, and replacing the tanks as needed with full tanks.
Shoveling snow and clearing sidewalks in case of inclement weather.
Replenishing supplies as needed.
