About The Position

The Housekeeper establishes standards of cleanliness and presentation for Enriched Senior Living resident rooms and common areas. The role involves routine and as-needed cleaning of resident rooms and shared spaces, including changing sheets and making beds, vacuuming, bathroom and kitchen cleaning, dusting, and trash removal, to keep areas clean, orderly, clutter-free, and odor-free. The Housekeeper also maintains public restrooms, offices, the beauty shop, utility and storage rooms, and laundry areas; handles cleaning chemicals safely; disinfects cleaning equipment; performs minor maintenance related to cleaning; and prepares vacant rooms for occupancy. The role includes reporting maintenance needs to management, attending required training and drills, following compliance, confidentiality, and safety requirements, and interacting comfortably with residents, families, and staff. The position requires the ability to lift more than 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Clean resident rooms and common areas according to schedule and as needed, including changing sheets and making beds, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, dusting, and emptying trash.
Dust, vacuum, and mop common areas routinely and as needed.
Dust, vacuum, straighten, and empty trash receptacles in offices and the beauty shop.
Wash walls, windows, woodwork, door panels, and sills as needed.
Empty trash receptacles and ashtrays and take gathered trash to dumpsters as needed.
Keep public restrooms clean and stocked with appropriate supplies.
Handle chemicals according to manufacturer directions and keep them locked when not in use.
Work efficiently to complete assigned tasks during the shift.
Keep utility, storage, and laundry rooms clean and orderly.
Clean lint traps as necessary to prevent fire hazards.
Disinfect and sterilize mops, brooms, and cleaning materials such as cloths.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies as assigned.
Perform minor maintenance related to cleaning, such as cleaning apartment air-conditioner filters, changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, and cleaning outside areas, entrances, and patios.
Report to management when unable to unclog a toilet.
Clean vacant rooms for occupancy and advise management when rooms are ready.
Examine rooms, halls, and lobbies for needed repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and make recommendations to management.
Maintain regular, punctual attendance as scheduled.
Attend scheduled in-services.
Know the community's fire evacuation and disaster policies and participate in assigned drills.
Follow compliance and ethics program policies and procedures.
Complete mandatory compliance, HIPAA, and state and federal regulatory training.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
Report allegations of abuse and/or neglect in accordance with the law.
Perform other assigned duties related to the success of Enriched Senior Living and resident care, comfort, and happiness.
Interact with residents, family members, and Enriched staff members.
