About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for daily housekeeping routines such as cleaning patient rooms, offices, and public areas, while ensuring a safe and risk preventive environment within OSHA regulations. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks in outpatient buildings, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and trash removal. The position also requires ensuring adequate linens are kept in the facility, cleaning areas with disinfectants, and refilling supplies. Maintaining confidentiality of employee and patient information, reporting any health and well-being concerns, and submitting work order requests to the Plant Operations Director are key aspects of this role. The Housekeeper must assist in assuring a safe and risk-preventative environment, comply with infection control measures, OSHA regulations, and Safety/Risk Management plans. Additionally, the role involves using time constructively, addressing patients and colleagues respectfully, assisting in emergencies, adhering to facility policies and procedures, attending mandatory in-services, and supporting quality improvement goals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in housekeeping duties, preferably in a health care facility.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of basic housekeeping duties
  • Knowledge of risk and safety precautions
  • Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks of patient rooms, offices and public areas outpatient buildings.
  • Vacuum, dust, mop, sweep and take out trash.
  • Ensure that adequate linens are kept in the facility.
  • Clean areas with disinfectants.
  • Refill supplies (paper products, soap, etc.).
  • Keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use and away from patients’ access when in use.
  • Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
  • Report any situations that may affect the health and well being of patients or employees.
  • Report alerting a paper work order request and submitting to the Plant Operations Director.
  • Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventative environment.
  • Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations and Safety/Risk Management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Use time constructively and in an organized manner to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
  • Address patients, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
  • Assist in any emergencies that may arise.
  • Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
  • Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled
  • Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
  • Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
