About The Position

Kendal at Oberlin's Environmental Services Team has a full-time opening for a Housekeeper for Independent Living residents. This role promotes quality of life and wellness by ensuring safe, sanitary, and homelike conditions in residential cottages, apartments, and the Community Center. The Housekeeper reports to the Environmental Operations Manager and must be capable of working with people of all ages and races, interacting with staff, residents, guests, and administrative positions.

Requirements

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to understand written and oral communications
• Detail oriented
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping chemicals, equipment, and cleaning/operating techniques
• Pleasant personality capable of contending with all people in a cooperative, helpful manner
• Ability to walk, climb, bend, push, stoop, pull, crawl, lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Dusting (high and low)
• Vacuuming
• Wet and dry mopping floors
• Washing windows, walls, counters, doors and baseboards
• Disinfecting and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens
• Stripping, waxing and buffing floors
• Top scrubbing carpets
• Stripping and redressing beds
• Restocking supplies
• Trash removal and recycling
