About The Position

TerraBella Senior Living is seeking a Housekeeper to join its assisted living community in Southern Pines. The Housekeeper performs scheduled cleaning in assigned areas, including resident apartments, common areas, lounges, and offices. The role also includes collecting and processing community laundry, maintaining laundry and cleaning equipment, safely storing chemicals, and keeping work areas free of hazards. The Housekeeper reports repair and supply needs to the Lead Housekeeper and may perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of residents.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population.
Ability to interact with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
Regularly stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and occasionally sit.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Close and color vision.

Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties in assigned apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices.
Sweep, dust, dust-mop, and wet-mop floors and stairways; spot-clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners.
Rotate runners in hallways and entryways.
Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities, and stock dispensers as needed.
Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills.
Keep work equipment and materials clean and orderly.
Collect trash and refuse from work areas and move it to designated pickup areas.
Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry.
Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Keep cleaning chemicals stored and locked when not in use.
Keep cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards out of the way, clear of exits, and compliant with fire codes.
Report needed repairs and supply or equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper.
Perform other duties as assigned.
