HOUSEKEEPER-UHR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
About The Position
The Housekeeper supports a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role ensures patient rooms, public areas, and workspaces are properly cleaned and disinfected according to hospital standards, using approved equipment and chemicals and supporting infection control practices. The position reports to the Housekeeping Manager. The role offers structured onboarding with hands-on training and clear cleaning protocols, support from experienced Environmental Services staff, and ongoing education focused on safety, infection control, and quality standards. It contributes to hospital-wide cleanliness, patient safety, infection prevention, regulatory readiness, and patient experience.
Requirements
- Functional grasp of standard written and verbal English and basic math.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Flexibility in schedule to meet the demands of the department.
- Previous cleaning experience strongly preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follow hospital and department rules and use manuals for guidance.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, and vacuuming to support patient and visitor safety.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals appropriately.
- Arrive on time and complete assigned shifts reliably.
- Keep equipment clean and stay updated on infection control practices.
- Complete additional tasks as needed.
