About The Position

Piedmont Crossing, located in Davidson County, is a not-for-profit continuing care community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehab, and memory care. For over 35 years, it has been recognized as a leading senior living provider. LPNs at Piedmont Crossing are dedicated professionals focused on delivering safe, high-quality clinical care to older adults. This includes administering medications and treatments, performing assessments, monitoring health status, and supporting diagnostic processes. The household nurse performs nursing functions requiring at minimum a licensed practical nurse within the household, such as passing medications, observing residents' conditions, and communicating with the Nurse Leader, registered nurse, or physician. They collaborate with the Nurse Leader to ensure regulatory compliance, foster a person-centered and resident-directed culture, strengthen the household as an effective home, and promote learning. Household nurses also teach and role-model professional nursing practices to staff and advocate for quality clinical care, providing routine daily nursing care and other services according to residents' assessments, choices, and care plans.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience
  • Must meet regulatory requirements for licensure as practical nurse in home state
  • CPR certified
  • Must have demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Must have interpersonal relationship skills
  • Must have knowledge of federal and state regulations governing clinical care and nursing practice
  • Commitment to person centered and resident directed care is essential
  • Will comply with all federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain licensure as nurse

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year skilled nursing facility experience preferred
  • Specialized training or experience in geriatric nursing is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing functions within the household that require at minimum a licensed practical nurse
  • Pass medications
  • Observe residents' condition and communicate them to the Nurse Leader, the registered nurse in house or the physician as needed
  • Work closely with the Nurse Leader to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Nurture a person-centered and resident-directed culture
  • Strengthen the ability of the household to grow as a separate effective home
  • Promote individual and team learning in the household
  • Participate in teaching and role-modeling of professional nursing practices to household staff and resident advocates for quality clinical care
  • Provide each resident with routine daily nursing care and other desired services in accordance with their assessment, choices and plan of care
  • Deliver safe, high-quality clinical care
  • Administer medications and treatments
