About The Position

We are an active family of three (four if you count our dog!) in San Francisco, CA, seeking a part-time Household Manager to bring structure, support, and calm to our home. Given the demands of our careers and family life, we aim to transfer certain household responsibilities to allow us to focus on work and quality family time. We value proactivity, reliability, and attention to detail, and are looking for someone who can be a true support system, proactively creating a harmonious and smoothly running home environment. Our 8.5-year-old daughter is busy with sports, and we enjoy outdoor activities on weekends. Grandma also helps a few days a week. We are seeking an organized, self-sufficient individual who takes initiative, thrives in a dynamic environment, and can handle multiple tasks with a positive attitude. The ideal candidate is warm, approachable, reliable, adaptable, and possesses excellent communication skills to manage competing priorities and take ownership of tasks. While detail-oriented, flexibility is also crucial. This role involves becoming a trusted member of our household, blending professionalism with warmth, and providing support beyond day-to-day tasks, including child-related errands, meal prep, or travel packing. Ultimately, the goal is to free up our time for personal and professional lives while ensuring our home functions smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services
Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)
Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-ups
Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
Support in coordinating with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
Maintain indoor plants
Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
Create and manage running household supply lists
Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and prescriptions
Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for adults, 2-3 dinner cooked meals per week
Prepare packed lunches during weeks when our daughter is at certain summer camps
Assist in shopping for groceries and meal-related items
Follow dietary needs and family preferences (low dairy, no quinoa, 1 vegetarian focused a week)
Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness
Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
Handle special care for delicates or uniforms
Meal-prep cooked dog food
Occasionally help walk the family dog
Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
Support in ensuring vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
Assist with school/activity as backup for both pick-ups and drop-offs
Light supervision and back-up childcare
Prep backpacks, clothing, or snacks for school
Help with child-related laundry or errands
Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)
Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation
