This role involves supporting our two active children and managing various household tasks to ensure a smooth and organized daily life. The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and brings a sense of calm and consistency to our home. This is a part-time position focusing on the after-school window, ensuring it feels like a soft landing for the children with organized gear and a warm, grounded presence.

Requirements

  • Reliable personal vehicle required; must comfortably accommodate multiple children and sports equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide afternoon school pickups and carpool driving to and from extracurricular activities.
  • Offer a warm, calm after-school transition for children, including greeting them, having snacks ready, and managing carpool logistics.
  • Provide organizational coaching and routine support for the younger son, including unpacking his backpack, reviewing papers for parent review, and building locker and homework habits.
  • Handle occasional transportation for children's appointments.
  • Assist with camp preparation by reviewing packing lists and helping gather and organize gear.
  • Perform daily resets of the kitchen, mudroom, den, and common areas, including dishes, surface wipe-downs, and general tidying.
  • Conduct light vacuuming of high-traffic areas.
  • Prepare the home before and after biweekly housekeeper visits.
  • Help create and maintain household organization systems, particularly in the mudroom, garage drop zone, and kids' areas.
  • Coordinate and execute donation drop-offs.
  • Water indoor and outdoor plants.
  • Perform occasional patio furniture maintenance.
  • Oversee vendors and contractors during scheduled service windows.
  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (e.g., Kroger, Amazon).
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-off, gift shopping, and donation runs.
  • Perform occasional mail and package handling.
  • Collaborate on meal planning approximately 3 nights per week, focusing on healthy, protein-forward meals.
  • Batch cook meals to near completion, preparing casseroles, proteins, and sides ready to reheat.
  • Double recipes for leftovers to accommodate varying schedules.
  • Manage grocery orders, schedule delivery, receive, and put away groceries.
  • Perform daily kitchen clean-up and maintenance.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry, and put away as needed.
  • Manage linen and towel rotation and prepare sheets for housekeeper visits.
  • Perform occasional ironing, steaming, or dry cleaning drop-off.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas.
  • Walk the dog and ensure she is out of her crate during working hours.
  • Handle doggy daycare pickup approximately once per week.
  • Schedule grooming, vet, and daycare appointments approximately every 60 days.
  • Maintain pet supplies.
  • Optional: pet sitting during family travel approximately 4 times per year (paid additionally).
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of the refrigerator, oven, and baseboards.
  • Organize and refresh the mudroom and garage.
  • Undertake ongoing seasonal organizational projects (gear, bedding, toys).
  • Manage the Skylight calendar, uploading school schedules, flyers, field trip reminders, and activity schedules.
  • Transition daily household communication from parent-driven texts to house manager-led, calendar-based updates.
  • Coordinate appointments and events, managing scheduling logistics.
  • Provide occasional light travel support, such as restaurant research.
