About The Position

We are a warm, busy Boston family preparing to welcome our second child this summer while balancing careers, daycare schedules, travel, and the everyday rhythm of family life. Our days are full, and we are looking for someone who can step in as a true household partner to help create more ease, organization, and calm in our home. Our family values good communication, initiative, flexibility, and a positive attitude. We are hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys supporting families, creating thoughtful systems, and helping lighten the mental load of daily life. The right person will be proactive, adaptable, and confident managing both the day-to-day details and the occasional curveballs that come with a home full of young children.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Comfortable navigating a walkable city environment and multi-level home with stairs
  • Previous experience supporting infants/children
  • Warm, proactive, organized, and highly dependable
  • Comfortable in a dynamic home environment where priorities may shift day-to-day
  • Able to self-manage and take initiative without constant oversight
  • Naturally anticipates needs and takes pride in helping a household function seamlessly
  • Efficient with time management and comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities
  • Calm, engaging, and nurturing presence around young children and infants
  • Strong communicator who is comfortable collaborating, receiving feedback, and adapting as family needs evolve
  • Passionate about meal prep and household organization and enjoys creating functional systems within the home
  • Flexible and team-oriented, happy to jump in wherever needed to support the family’s day-to-day needs
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Infant CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Comfortable with dogs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain household organization systems throughout the home, including toys, pantry spaces, closets, and common areas
  • Complete daily resets to keep the home tidy and functional
  • Light tidying including dishes, wiping surfaces, organizing mail and school papers, and vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Coordinate seasonal clothing swaps and donation drop-offs
  • Support packing and unpacking for family travel and weekend trips
  • Help prepare the home for cleaning services and special projects
  • Assist with small household maintenance tasks such as changing batteries and smoke detector upkeep
  • Plan and prepare healthy, family-friendly meals and snacks approximately 3–4 nights per week
  • Grocery shop and maintain household food inventory
  • Batch cook and prep ingredients as needed
  • Prepare and pack school lunches
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization following meal prep
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Handle linens, towels, and bedding rotations
  • Manage special garment care including air-dry and delicate items
  • Keep laundry areas tidy, organized, and stocked
  • Track and restock household supplies, pantry items, diapers, toiletries, and pet supplies
  • Manage household shopping lists and subscriptions
  • Run errands including grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Handle mail, packages, and box breakdown/recycling
  • Assist with school pickups/drop-offs and activity transportation as needed
  • Provide backup childcare support during school closures, sick days, or schedule disruptions
  • Support occasional date nights and overnight coverage during work travel
  • Provide additional infant support if daycare timing shifts during the fall months
  • Prep backpacks, snacks, and kid-related items as needed
  • Daily dog walks and general pet support
  • Coordinate grooming and vet appointments
  • Maintain pet supply inventory
  • Coordinate with cleaners, repair professionals, and household vendors
  • Research and coordinate home maintenance projects and repairs
  • Assist with organization and coordination related to future renovation projects
  • Support occasional oversight related to the family’s additional property and travel logistics
  • Maintain visibility into family schedules to help support household coordination
  • Support receipt and expense tracking related to the family’s rental property
  • Coordinate appointments, household logistics, and occasional travel support
