About The Position

We are a busy family seeking a reliable and proactive Household Manager & Family Assistant to help maintain an organized and welcoming home environment. The role involves managing household tasks, organizing systems, meal planning and preparation, laundry, and providing light family support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently to ensure our home runs smoothly, allowing the family to focus on quality time together. This position supports a family with a young child, two adults with demanding jobs, and frequent travel, living on a property with animals.

Requirements

Ability to maintain a smoke-free environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification if not already certified.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable.
Organized with the ability to create and maintain household systems.
Flexible and able to adjust to evolving needs.

Comfortable with children and animals.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain household organization systems.
Perform daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners.
Conduct light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
Perform house sitting duties during family travel, such as watering plants.
Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
Manage running household supply lists.
Oversee household orders and subscriptions (e.g., Amazon, Costco, Target).
Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
Manage mail and package handling.
Break down boxes.
Plan and prepare 2-3 healthy, protein-forward, kid-friendly meals per week.
Shop for groceries and meal-related items.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
Wash, fold, and organize laundry, including special garment care like ironing/steaming.
Manage linen rotation and maintain tidy laundry areas.
Occasionally research and coordinate repairs and quotes.
Manage and refresh outdoor spaces like the pool, patio, and front porch.
Provide occasional school or activity pick-ups.
Support with after-school routines and snacks.
Offer light supervision or back-up childcare.
Handle kid-related errands.
Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances like the fridge and oven.
Refresh mudroom and pantry organization.
Undertake organizational projects for toys, gear, and seasonal/holiday decor.
