Household Manager & Family Assistant

Sage HausMendham, NJ

About The Position

We are a busy, close-knit family with three children, two working parents, and a lot of love under one roof. Our careers are demanding and meaningful to us — and so is being truly present when we walk through the door at the end of the day. We have come to realize that the right support at home doesn’t just reduce stress; it gives us back the moments that matter most. We are looking for someone who can help carry the logistical and mental load of our household — the laundry, the kitchen resets, the meal prep, the errands, the school pickups, the vendor coordination — so that our home feels calm, organized, and ready for whatever the day brings. We have one family dog and care for a second dog during the day, so a genuine comfort around pets is part of the picture too. This is a role for someone who finds real satisfaction in creating order and calm for others. If you are the kind of person who walks into a room and instinctively knows what needs to happen next — and takes quiet pride in making it happen — you will thrive here. Discretion matters deeply to us given the nature of our careers, and we ask that candidates be willing to sign an NDA. One set evening per week extends to 8:00 PM to accommodate a standing work meeting; occasional flexibility for date nights is also appreciated. Most of all, we are looking for someone we can genuinely trust and rely on for the long term — someone who becomes a steady, valued part of how our household runs and who takes pride in the role they play in our family’s day-to-day life.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Comfortable with dogs
  • Willingness to sign an NDA

Nice To Haves

  • You are someone who genuinely enjoys bringing calm, order, and efficiency to a busy home.
  • You have a natural manager’s mindset — you notice what needs to be done before being asked and feel satisfaction in staying one step ahead.
  • You take pride in the details that make family life feel lighter and more manageable, whether that’s a stocked fridge, a smoothly running laundry system, or a kitchen that’s reset and ready.
  • You are proactive, dependable, and organized.
  • You don’t need constant direction, and you’re comfortable taking initiative while respecting the preferences and rhythms of the family.
  • You problem-solve quietly and effectively.
  • You are also warm and confident around children, able to step in with school pickups, snack prep, and occasional backup childcare in a way that feels natural and reassuring.
  • You are comfortable around dogs and happy to help with their daily care as part of the flow of your day.
  • Above all, you are trustworthy, discreet, and emotionally steady.
