About The Position

We are a family of five with three school-aged children and two dogs seeking a reliable and organized Household Manager & Family Assistant. This part-time role, offering 28-35 hours per week, focuses on maintaining household organization, providing family support, managing laundry and meal preparation, handling administrative tasks, overseeing errands and vendors, and assisting with pet care. The ideal candidate is proactive, energetic, and takes pride in creating systems that ensure a smooth-running and supportive home environment. We are looking for someone to grow with our family over time and become an essential part of our household's smooth operation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners.
  • Light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparation.
  • Perform indoor plant care.
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors.
  • Handle pickups and drop-offs for children.
  • Provide light supervision and backup childcare as needed.
  • Offer date night coverage 1-2 times per month.
  • Complete kid-related errands such as picking up school supplies and gifts.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the entire household, including linens.
  • Perform ironing and steaming of clothing and bed linens.
  • Handle special garment care as needed.
  • Manage linen rotation and maintain tidy laundry areas.
  • Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks.
  • Prepare dinner three times per week (focusing on prep tasks like chopping vegetables and marinating proteins).
  • Wash and cut fruit for grab-and-go containers.
  • Perform grocery shopping and restock pantry and fridge.
  • Follow dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanup and maintenance.
  • Manage the household calendar and coordinate family schedules using the Cozy app.
  • Coordinate events and appointments.
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics.
  • Track receipts and manage household budgets.
  • Provide administrative assistance with the family business (bonus).
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling, including breaking down boxes.
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, landscapers, and other vendors.
  • Research and coordinate repairs and quotes.
  • Assist with seasonal property maintenance.
  • Manage outdoor spaces.
  • Undertake organizational projects (e.g., gear, basement, closets).
  • Oversee cleaners for occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards).
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas.
  • Clean humidifiers and air purifiers.
  • Schedule vet and grooming appointments for pets.
  • Maintain pet supplies.
  • Provide occasional pet feeding and letting dogs out.
