About The Position

We are a busy, active family of eight, located in Winchester, MA, with three younger children (6th and 4th grades) involved in after-school activities, and three older children who have moved out. Our lifestyle is dynamic, involving travel to New Hampshire for skiing in winter and Cape Cod in summer. Sports, community, and academic activities are significant parts of our routine. We value academics, recreation, and health, striving to support each child's passions. Dad works in property management, and Mom is an entrepreneur and jewelry designer with a home studio. We prioritize structure, organization, and a productive, calm home environment. We seek a dependable, detail-oriented individual who can anticipate needs, take initiative, and manage various household tasks. This role provides essential behind-the-scenes support to ensure the family thrives. We are looking for someone proactive, independent, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, hands-on, team-oriented, a problem-solver, family-centered, calm, and efficient. You should be comfortable with children and able to partner with them.

Responsibilities

  • Create and/or maintain household organization systems, including seasonal swaps (clothing, sports gear, decor)
  • Daily resets to prepare the home for cleaners and ensure smooth transitions
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)
  • Organizational projects including toys, gear, and mudroom updates
  • Prepare donation drop-offs and manage related tasks
  • Event/holiday prep as needed (mild)
  • Packing/unpacking for travel and managing household logistics
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Assist with child-related tasks such as homework oversight, instrument practice reminders, and accountability
  • Check backpacks/clothing/snacks to teach kids self-sufficiency
  • Provide light transportation (activity pick-ups or drop-offs)
  • Monitor and refresh spaces like the mudroom, laundry room, and kids’ playroom as part of seasonal projects
  • Alert cleaning staff when deep cleaning is needed and take proactive steps
  • Restock pantry and fridge and manage household supply lists
  • Order supplies and handle returns
  • Assist with errands, such as dry cleaning and gift shopping
  • Light batch cooking (eg. rice)
  • Prepare, chop, refresh fruit, veggies, and healthy snacks
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the three younger girls
  • Maintain tidy laundry areas and handle linen rotation as needed
  • Fuel and clean family vehicles and ensure they are well-organized
  • Track yearly inspections and maintain upkeep
  • Ensure property readiness with stocked pantry and clean spaces that are usable for the family
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers
  • Coordinate small repairs, and assist with seasonal property maintenance
  • Manage outdoor spaces, including putting out furniture and ensuring grills are ready
  • Assist with calendar management and maintain visibility into the family’s schedule
  • Help with household admin tasks, such as finding repair people and managing vendors
