About The Position

We’re a busy family of 4 looking for a Household Manager & Family Assistant to help maintain our home's rhythm and keep things running smoothly. This role involves supporting household routines, maintaining an organized and tidy environment, and taking ownership of behind-the-scenes details to make family life manageable. The ideal candidate will be a steady, helpful presence, reducing the mental load and bringing calm to the day-to-day shuffle. We value open communication, flexibility, a sense of humor, and someone who is observant and attentive, naturally stepping in where needed. This position offers a structure behind the scenes with a laid-back, flexible energy day to day.

Requirements

Reliable transportation
Clean driving record
Maintain a smoke-free environment
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Up-to-date vaccinations preferred (general, COVID, flu)
Comfortable with technology, especially family calendars and basic organizational tools
Must pass a background check

Responsibilities

Create and maintain household organization systems.
Perform daily resets and prepare the home for bi-weekly cleaners.
Light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
Manage seasonal clothing swaps.
Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparation.
Handle packing and unpacking for family travel.
Perform after-school pickups and drop-offs to activities.
Provide light supervision and backup childcare as needed.
Prepare backpacks, clothing, and snacks for school.
Handle kid-related errands such as purchasing spirit day items and school supplies.
Prepare 3 dinners per week (options include fully cooked meals or prepped ingredients).
Prepare school lunches 2-3 times per week.
Adhere to family dietary restrictions and preferences.
Perform grocery shopping.
Wash and prep foods for snacks.
Maintain kitchen cleanup and maintenance.
Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
Manage running household supply lists.
Oversee household orders and subscriptions (e.g., Amazon, Costco, Target).
Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
Manage mail and package handling.
Break down boxes.
Perform occasional deep cleans of areas like the fridge, oven, and baseboards.
Refresh areas such as the garage, mudroom, and entryway.
Clean humidifiers and air purifiers.
Undertake organizational projects for toys, gear, pantry, and closets.
Manage family laundry and linen rotation, including washing, folding, and organizing.
Perform occasional ironing and steaming for special garments.
Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area.
Contribute to and maintain awareness of the family calendar, inputting sports and activity schedules.
Track receipts and expenses incurred in the role.
Occasionally assist with event coordination, such as birthday parties or hosting.
Occasionally fuel, clean, and organize the family vehicle.
Oversee occasional seasonal and outdoor maintenance.
