About The Position

Brentwood Hospital is seeking a House Supervisor, RN to provide quality general and psychiatric nursing care. The role serves adult patients, typically ages 18 and older, with psychiatric or emotional disorders, addictive disease disorders, or substance or chemical dependency problems; adolescents, typically ages 12 to 17, and children, ages 4 to 11, with psychiatric or emotional disorders; and geriatric patients, typically ages 65 and older, with psychiatric or emotional disorders. The House Supervisor actively contributes to the multidisciplinary treatment team and supports the organization’s care philosophy for its adult, adolescent, and child programs, helping ensure each patient’s safety and well-being.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program.
• Currently licensed to practice by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing; RN required.
• CPR certification.
• CPI and Verbal De-Escalation certifications are provided by Brentwood Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate unit staffing to meet patient demand and adjust staffing as needed.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and resolve unit issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Manage unit FTEs and overtime in relation to the budget, understanding their financial impact on facility goals.
• Use exemplary communication skills.
• Understand, follow, and support risk management and infection control policies and procedures.
• Intervene appropriately in crisis situations.
