About The Position

As a House Supervisor, you’re essential to help others grow and live a happy life. The little things you do make a big impact here. And, you can always count on a helpful team and supervisors to back you up. The House Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our group homes. You will perform tasks related to paperwork requirements, medication review, projects and assisting with tasks that ensure effective and efficient day to day operations. This role requires driving, therefore a "clean driving record" is critical.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School or GED Diploma or 6 months of experience in the Human Services field.
  • Pass our paid training in CPR, First Aid and DSP orientation within 30 days of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Responsible work ethic and good communication skills.
  • Compassionate and caring.
  • Must not have any of the following violations within the last 5 years: Reckless driving, including speeding 20mph or more over the posted speed limit; Driving under the influence/impaired/intoxicated or refusing a blood/breath test; Manslaughter or negligent homicide; Driving after being declared a habitual offender; Driving on a suspended or revoked license; Driving a commercial motor vehicle while disqualified, under the influence, with a blood alcohol level of .04 or higher, refusing a blood/breath test, or violating an out-of-service order; Injuring a person while racing - felony; Failure to stop at the scene of a crash where there is injury, death, or property damage of $1000 or more; Emergency vehicle violation - death; Vehicular assault or willful stopping, impeding, or damaging a vehicle; Blocking access to the service facility; Attempting to elude police; Operating an unsafe vehicle; Vulnerable Road User – Death.
  • Must not have any of the following violations within the last 3 years: Passing a stopped school bus; Careless driving; Three or more minor moving violations within the last three years.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily operation of our group homes.
  • Performing tasks related to paperwork requirements, medication review, and projects.
  • Assisting with tasks that ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Working as part of the team with the Residential program to ensure the smooth operation of all residential group homes.
  • Participating in the hiring of DSP1s by attending potential candidate interviews.
  • Providing thorough orientation and training per guidelines for new DSP1s and ensuring that DSP1s understand and follow all protocols and implement the ISP’s appropriately. Providing additional training as needed.
  • Scheduling DSPIs to work open shifts or gaps in coverage. Providing coverage if no other staff is available.
  • Ensuring all medications are available and dispensed correctly and informing Health Coordinator of any changes to the individual’s medical needs.
  • Scheduling, coordinating and attending medical and dental appointments.
  • Completing monthly check of MARs and medication to ensure accuracy, and ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Ensuring that individuals have an appropriate supply of clothing, personal hygiene items and other personal items. Scheduling and ensuring haircuts as needed.
  • Following program procedure for spending, recording, and accounting of individual’s money.
  • Assessing household needs and ensuring the home is kept well stocked.
  • Gathering and coding receipts and submitting by due date.
  • Ensuring agency vehicle is maintained, reconciling gas receipts and submitting by due date.
  • Creating monthly activity calendar, in conjunction with the PM plan, and implementing community outings and ensuring adequate staff is available.
  • Arranging for the celebration of all major holidays and the individuals’ birthdays.
  • Checking charts throughout the month to ensure documentation is in compliance with policy and is occurring as required.
  • Completing a detailed Monthly Supervision Report Schedule and conducting a monthly meeting with all DSP1’s assigned to your house.
  • Attending and participating in supervisor meetings and other meetings as directed or required.
  • Conducting monthly emergency preparedness drills and walk throughs at your assigned home.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Providing transportation in accordance with agency procedures.
  • Responding to emergency situations and implementing First Aid, CPR or CPI when required.
  • Performing other related duties as required and assigned.
