About The Position

The House Supervisor (RN) - Inpatient - FT Days position at California Rehabilitation Institute, a joint venture with Cedars, UCLA, and Select Medical, is a full-time role requiring the individual to administer, direct, and supervise the clinical care provided by the nursing staff, including Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, and Unit Secretaries. This role serves as a resource and consultant for clinical nursing care within the hospital, ensuring patient care, safety, and quality are maintained in alignment with hospital and departmental philosophy and objectives. The House Supervisor collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to maintain approved standards of patient care and ensures continuity of care. Responsibilities also include assisting with disciplinary issues, staff mentoring, performance appraisals, and providing oversight for the hospital in the absence of the CNO. Effective communication on multiple levels is essential.

Requirements

Valid State RN License is required.
BLS and ACLS are required at hire.

Nice To Haves

Five (5) years of critical care/progressive clinical care experience is preferred.
Prior clinical management experience is preferred.
BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

Administers, directs and supervises the clinical care being provided by the nursing staff, which includes all Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, and Unit Secretaries.
Serves as a resource and consultant for the clinical nursing care being rendered for the hospital.
Provides and oversees nursing care, safety, and quality while maintaining hospital and departmental philosophy and objectives.
Maintains approved standards of patient care, by collaborating with appropriate persons for continuity of care under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer.
Assists with disciplinary issues, staff mentoring and performance appraisals.
Provides oversight for the hospital in collaboration with and in the absence of the CNO.
Effectively communicates on multiple levels.
