About The Position

Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country seeks a dedicated and values-driven House Manager to oversee one of our Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) homes. In this role, you'll help lead a team in delivering person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring that services are equitable, accessible, and aligned with each person’s goals. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in MR/DD field required.
  • One year of supervisory experience required.
  • Successful completion of Medication Certification training program (can be completed post-hire).
  • Reliable personal vehicle for business use.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience required.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle abstract to meet Agency insurability standards.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transfer 50 lbs. (Occasional); ability to lift and support individuals with and without help.
  • Physical strength to safely respond should a behavioral crisis occur.
  • Ability to operate personal and Agency vehicles.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Some exposure to infectious diseases, hygiene issues, food, and other odors.
  • Able to tolerate atmospheric conditions when performing regular outdoor seasonal activities.
  • Ability to operate mechanical devices used by individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • NADSP certification as a front-line supervisor preferred.
  • Other supervisor training preferred.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and supporting direct support professionals, including coordinating daily activities, ensuring adequate staffing, providing feedback and evaluations, preparing action plans, and holding staff accountable to agency values.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and quality assurances, including monitoring billing, reporting incidents, completing monthly summaries, conducting investigations, and assisting with fire safety training.
  • Providing direct support and habilitation services, assisting individuals with personal care, promoting independence, supporting informed choices, and assisting with daily living skills, nutrition, budgeting, community participation, medical appointments, medication administration, transportation, and managing personal funds.
  • Communicating and coordinating with stakeholders, including educational, vocational, and day programs, and maintaining contact with DDSO, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborating internally and cross-functionally with the Training & Development Manager and Human Resources, and building positive working relationships across the agency.
  • Managing household budget and logistics, including tracking expenditures, coordinating purchases, and ensuring adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Ensuring facility maintenance and residential safety through regular walk-throughs, coordinating repairs, and overseeing seasonal upkeep.
  • Maintaining flexible operational coverage and availability, including working flexible schedules and participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
