About The Position

We are a warm, grounded, and close-knit family of four seeking a highly organized, proactive House Manager to create and maintain meaningful systems in our home. This role involves supporting household tasks, light child care, and occasional meal preparation to lighten the mental load of the household. We value a calm, intentional approach to life and are looking for someone who can bring warmth, professionalism, and initiative to our home environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking cues from our family's preferences and routines, leading by example in creating organized spaces, and supporting light child and pet care. This position offers the opportunity to focus on spending more relaxed, quality time together as a family.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable transportation for errands and occasionally dropping off/picking up kids.
  • Comfortable navigating a large home/yard and assisting with young children on occasion.
  • Comfortable around medium-sized dogs and young children.
  • Able to navigate a large property easily.
  • Feel aligned with a lifestyle that values health, wellness, and calm, intentional living.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to take cues from the family’s preferences and routines.
  • Background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Montessori method and approach to tidying, toy rotation, and space setup.
  • Occasional evening availability for child care appreciated for date-night, twice per month.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas).
  • Prep the home for bi-weekly housekeepers.
  • Break down and move boxes to the garage.
  • Provide light care for indoor plants.
  • Perform light meal prep work such as washing and chopping vegetables, pre-baking prep, and preparing healthy snacks.
  • Pack school lunches daily.
  • Perform occasional grocery shopping as needed.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Maintain running household supply lists.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and occasional gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling.
  • Occasional cleaning, auditing, and refreshing the fridge.
  • Refresh high-traffic areas such as the kids’ cubbies and downstairs landing every other week.
  • Rotate and organize children's toys and activities using a Montessori-inspired approach.
  • Provide backup pick-ups and drop-offs of the children as needed.
  • Provide light supervision and back-up childcare.
  • Provide occasional evening availability for date night coverage (approximately twice per month).
  • Organize and reset the family vehicles every few weeks.
  • Occasional walking of two friendly dogs.
  • Maintain updated pet supply list.
  • Light tidying of the large backyard and outdoor play areas.
  • Occasionally let in contractors or service providers.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry and rotate linens weekly.
  • Maintain tidy laundry areas and track product stock.
